Breguet Launches New Sponsorship Of Carnegie Hall In New York

On October 5th, Breguet launched a new sponsorship of Carnegie Hall in New York in 2012-2013: unveiling the specially produced Breguet tourbillon clock, the ceremony opened at a charity concert The pre-ceremony was held by Breguet’s US brand manager Michael Nelson, Carnegie Hall Art Director Clive Gillinson, and Carnegie Hall Chairman Sandy Weill.     Breguet, which sponsored the opening night of the charity evening, is now the official ‘exclusive timer’ for Carnegie Hall. The dinner was held in the banquet hall of the nearby Waldorf-Astoria. The clock analog Breguet’s original tourbillon watch designed in 1801 is the company’s first clock for American architecture. This is the first addition to the hall since its renovation in 1986. The clock is paired with a backlit white dial, decorated with the familiar guilloché pattern and classic blue Breguet hands, and a gold case. The clock was assembled in Switzerland and took 6 months. Breguet said the clock contains an electric drive movement.

    More than 500 guests attended the opening night, including New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Sarah Jessica Parker (American actress) and Chelsea Clinton, raising a total of $ 2.7 million to support Carnegie Music Hall of Arts and Education Projects.
